what we do

The bioinformatics group is part of the larger Microarray Centre at the University Health Network. We are located on the 9th floor of the Toronto Mars Discovery Discovery tower. The Microarray Centre is a core facility, with the ability to perform a number of high throughput array based genomics screens. Technology platforms include Illumina, Affymetrix, Agilent, and in-house printed arrays.

The bioinformatics group's primary mission is to service customers who utilize array based technologies with a quality analysis of their results. We can perform analysis of gene expression, ChIP on CHIP, and methylation arrays, to name only a few. Our techniques for analysis are kept up to date and are flexible, depending on a researchers' needs. We also develop and provide secure and easy to use portals for users to receive the results of their experiments and analysis.

We are also happy to offer our data analysis service to customers with microarray data obtained from other facilities. Indeed, we are well versed in bioionformatics tools outside of microarrays, and can perform sequence and SNP analysis from raw chromatograms, BLAST searches, multiple alignments and trees, primer design, antibody epitope prediction, computer programming and much more. If you are interested in using us, please contact us directly and we'd be pleased to look at your needs and try to help!
